Jim's latest CD, Make Someone Happy, was recorded in 2000 and features a stellar band of Chicagoans, including the legendary Ira Sullivan who plays sax, trumpet and flute on the recording.  This is Jim's third CD with Ira, the other two are on Delmark Records. Sullivan became an important inspiration to Cooper when they met in the late 1980s. Ira leads the band, as only Ira can, with jazz standards by Miles Davis, Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington and more.  Besides Ira and Coop on those swingin' vibes, the CD features the unique piano stylings of Bob Dogan, Dan Delorenzo on bass and Joe Grass on drums.  If you like live recordings and lots of soloing, this recording is for you!
